Chad Anderson

FOUNDER, CHIEF INVESTMENT OFFICER, PORTFOLIO MANAGER

Chad serves as North Lion’s CIO and portfolio manager. Prior to launching North Lion, he spent almost 20 years at Piper Jaffray where he most recently managed a proprietary trading effort with peak invested capital of $100 million. Chad previously started and managed Piper Jaffray’s equity sales and trading initiative in New York City, which became the largest, most productive office for the firm. He was consistently one of Piper Jaffray’s largest producers throughout his tenure with the firm.

Steven Ahn

Managing Partner

Steven joined North Lion Capital in 2024 as a Managing Partner. He brings more than 20 years of hedge fund management experience and leads North Lion’s presence and relationships in New York. Prior to joining North Lion, Steven spent many years at Alkeon Capital Management, where he played a key role in growing the firm into one of New York’s largest and most successful hedge funds, with assets exceeding $20 billion.

Dan Flanigan

CO-PORTFOLIO MANAGER, HEAD OF TRADING AND RISK MANAGEMENT

Dan joined North Lion in 2019. He typically partners with Chad on idea generation and execution strategies and oversees risk management across the portfolio. Dan manages key relationships with North Lion’s syndicate partners. He previously spent over 20 years at Piper Jaffray, where he became a top producing Sales Trader, Managing Director and Head of Equity Trading.

Tony Gikas

CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER, DIRECTOR OF INVESTOR RELATIONS

Tony joined North Lion at inception and manages business operations and investor relations. Tony has 18 years of experience on the sell-side as a senior research analyst and Managing Director at Piper Jaffray covering the technology and consumer sectors. He spent four years managing operations for another hedge fund before launching North Lion. He also spent seven years managing boutique consultancy Four Hills Advisors.
